Area code 430 is an overlay for area code 903 in northeastern Texas, covering cities such as Tyler, Longview, Texarkana, and Paris. It was introduced in 2003 to provide additional numbering capacity as the population and mobile usage increased in this largely rural and suburban region. With the overlay came the requirement for ten-digit dialing. The 430 area code supports a region rooted in agriculture, small industry, and educational institutions, while also embracing digital growth and suburban development. Though newer, 430 has become a common part of telecommunications in East Texas and complements the long-established 903 area.
